The way I
move in the city.
The people
who live in Santiago have a lot of problems to move on the city. The public
buses and subway don’t work fine. It’s a
mess to go to downtown if you live on the east and vice versa. The times of
travel are really long. The people spend about an hour, two hours or more to arrive
to their jobs, and their houses, in the afternoon. The peak hour in Santiago is
a real disaster. Angry drivers, angry passengers in the public transport, all
the streets fill up with cars and one annoying sound repeat all the time. The
F*ing car horn.
So now,
what you can do to move faster in the city. How to solve the problem of peak
hour and don’t be one more of the multitude? My tip is, ride a bike.
The bike is
cheap, faster than the public transport, doesn’t need gasoline and the best
thing is that makes you do exercise. If most
of the city people use a bike, the mess in the mornings and the afternoons (All
day really) will disappear.
That’s what
I do, ride my bike. It’s great because my travel times decreased, my health is
better (well, I smoke, but it is much better), I can reach any place of the
city and I feel free to go where I want without worry about what bus I have to
take or what combination I have to do.
So I recommend all of you, use the bike.
